The U.S. Senate officially confirmed Kevin Warsh as a Federal Reserve Governor on May 12 with a 51-45 vote. His 14-year term, succeeding Steven Miran, begins retroactively from Feb. 1 of this year. The Senate has also initiated the confirmation process for Warsh's concurrent four-year term as Fed Chairman by holding a cloture vote. Following this, his confirmation for the chairmanship could be approved as early as May 14. The term of current Chairman Jerome Powell ends on May 16.
