Astar Network founder plans to launch first bank-issued yen stablecoin 'JPYSC' within months

Sota Watanabe, founder of the Japan-based public blockchain project Astar Network (ASTR), announced on X that he plans to launch "JPYSC," the first bank-issued yen stablecoin, within the next few months. He added that if this model is realized, it will create a new investment structure that combines yen-based financing with a tokenized financial infrastructure.
