Lombard replaces LayerZero with Chainlink CCIP as cross-chain standard

Lombard (BARD), a Bitcoin-based financial infrastructure platform, has adopted Chainlink's (LINK) Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as its cross-chain standard, replacing LayerZero (ZRO), CoinDesk reported. The move is part of a broader industry trend of reviewing and replacing cross-chain standards after LayerZero's bridge was exposed in the hack of Kelp DAO's rsETH, which highlighted the security risks of such protocols.
