Russia bans crypto mining in Kursk border region

The Russian government's legislative commission has approved a bill to ban cryptocurrency mining in the border region of Kursk Oblast, Bits.media reported. The governor of Kursk stated that the measure was implemented at the request of energy suppliers. He added that the move is intended to prevent worsening energy shortages caused by damage to power infrastructure from Ukrainian military attacks and subsequent recovery delays.
