NYSE parent company CEO says Hyperliquid is bigger than Nasdaq

May 29, 2026, 1:02 AM
Jeffrey Sprecher, CEO of Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), has assessed the decentralized exchange Hyperliquid as being larger than Nasdaq. According to Frank Chaparro, Head of Content at GSR, Sprecher stated that for those unfamiliar with Hyperliquid, it is bigger than Nasdaq. He added that ICE is not afraid of the platform and is instead learning from it by engaging in direct conversations with its management. Meanwhile, David Hernandez, a crypto analyst at 21Shares, noted that U.S. institutional investors are preparing to enter the Hyperliquid market. He explained that since U.S. funds cannot yet trade directly on the platform, some are monitoring the market and researching its technologies, such as HyperEVM and HyperBFT.
