Texas names four advisors to Strategic Bitcoin Reserve committee

Texas Acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock on May 28 announced the members of the advisory committee that will manage the state's Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. The committee will consist of five members, including Hancock. The four newly appointed advisors are Lori Doughty, Chair of the Investment Advisory Committee for the Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS); Jamie McAvity, founder of mining company Comint Data Systems; Carla Reyes, a law professor at Southern Methodist University; and Gary Vecchiarelli, CFO of mining firm CleanSpark. On the same day, the Comptroller's office also issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to select a firm to handle custody and liquidity services for the reserve.
