Coinbase engineering head resigns, will remain advisor for x402 project

Erik Reppel, head of engineering for the Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP), has announced on X that he is leaving the company to launch his own startup. Reppel added that he will continue to be involved with Coinbase's x402 open payment protocol project and will also maintain his advisory role at Agentic Commerce. He will be succeeded by Senior Engineering Manager Yuga Cohler.
