June 24, 2026, 11:52 AM
Litecoin (LTC) could outperform major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), in the coming months, according to an analysis by CoinDesk. The report notes that Litecoin's fourth halving is scheduled for around July 27, 2027, which will reduce mining rewards from 6.25 LTC to 3.125 LTC. Historically, LTC has shown a tendency to bottom out approximately six to 12 months before a halving event. For instance, ahead of its third halving on Aug. 2, 2023, LTC hit a bottom around $40 in June 2022 before rallying to $114 in July 2023. It also surged by more than 40% during the FTX collapse in November 2022. The analysis added that during the two previous halvings, LTC followed a similar pattern of bottoming out months in advance, followed by a rally and then a correction immediately before the event.
