China’s central bank keeps benchmark lending rates unchanged again

The People’s Bank of China said it kept the loan prime rate, or LPR, which is effectively treated as the country’s benchmark interest rate, unchanged. The one-year LPR, the benchmark for general loans, was maintained at 3.0%, while the five-year LPR, which serves as the reference rate for mortgages, was kept at 3.5%.
