White House crypto adviser to stay involved through Senate review of Clarity Act

July 20, 2026, 11:52 PM
Patrick Witt, chief of staff of the White House crypto committee, said a scheduled military training exercise had been postponed, allowing him to remain involved through the Senate legislative process for the Clarity Act. Witt said he had spent the past year working to help pass the bill in line with President Donald Trump’s policy of making the United States the global center of cryptocurrency. He added that he had been set to take part in mandatory training with the Georgia Army National Guard ahead of the bill’s Senate review, but the delay now allows him to continue supporting the legislative process.
