Metaplanet’s top shareholder raises voting stake to 10.63%

Japan-listed Metaplanet, which has been strategically accumulating Bitcoin, disclosed on July 21 that the voting stake held by its largest shareholder, U.S. investment adviser Capital Research and Management Company, rose to 10.63% from 9.32%. The change took effect on July 13. Metaplanet currently holds 43,000 BTC, worth about $2.8 billion, making it the world’s third-largest corporate Bitcoin holder among listed companies.
