Pakistan’s FIA creates dedicated unit for crypto crimes

Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has created a dedicated unit to investigate money laundering and terrorist financing involving cryptocurrencies, Decrypt reported. The unit has been set up under the newly launched national command and control center (NC3), while digital asset regulation will be handled by a separate body, the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA). NC3 also oversees Interpol coordination, open-source intelligence analysis, cyber patrols and dark web investigations.
