Augustus raises $180M to expand dollar payment infrastructure

Augustus, a startup pursuing the establishment of a federally chartered payment bank, has raised $180 million to expand its dollar payment infrastructure, CoinDesk reported. The funding round was led by Tiger Global Management and included Hummingbird Ventures, QED Investors, Nubank and Circle. The company plans to accelerate its buildout of payment infrastructure as stablecoins rapidly reshape the global financial landscape.
