KOSPI reclaims 7,000 after surging more than 5%

South Korea’s KOSPI climbed more than 5% early in the session to reclaim the 7,000 level for the first time in five trading days since July 16. The sharp rise prompted the Korea Exchange to trigger a buy-side sidecar for a second straight day after doing so yesterday. The KOSPI was recently trading at 7,138.78, up 5.79% from the previous session.
