RippleX engineer says AI agents pay for digital services with XRP on XRPL

Ayo Akinyele, a principal engineer at RippleX, said autonomous AI agents are directly paying for various technology services with XRP and RLUSD on the XRP Ledger, according to U.Today. Akinyele said the agents are using the x402 micropayment protocol to buy transaction data APIs, web information analysis services and social media APIs, and added that on one platform, on-chain transactions carried out by AI bots recently exceeded 1.43 million. Akinyele said the XRP-based AI economy could expand further as AI agents begin searching for and purchasing physical goods. RippleX is the developer community for the public blockchain XRP Ledger, led by Ripple developers.
