Coinbase to pursue full rollout of quantum-resistant cryptography

Coinbase (COIN) announced plans to upgrade its in-house key management system with quantum-resistant protections and conduct a full infrastructure review to proactively address the code-breaking threat posed by quantum computers. The company said it will support quantum-resistant custody services once blockchains adopt quantum cryptography solutions, with additional upgrades planned over the next two to three years. Coinbase also plans to co-host a Bitcoin developer conference with Stanford University to discuss transition plans for quantum resistance. Coinbase is also part of the Bitcoin Security Alliance, which includes Strategy, BlackRock and Fidelity.
