A Solana-based memecoin tied to the raccoon Jimothy surged after the official White House account posted about it, according to on-chain analytics platform GMGN. The token’s market capitalization rose above $40 million, while its 24-hour gain reached about 60% and trading volume hit $44 million. Jimothy, the raccoon behind the memecoin, lives in Seattle and has physical abnormalities caused by a rare congenital disorder. A video posted by a local resident on July 14 drew about 8 million views and fueled a wave of community creations, including emojis, murals, and merchandise.
