Iran rejects Trump ceasefire proposal over Strait of Hormuz issue

Iran has rejected a ceasefire proposal put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump, the New York Times reported, citing Iranian and Iraqi officials. The proposal, delivered by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, had been the only ceasefire offer currently presented between the two sides, but Iran indicated it has no interest in a temporary truce unless the issue of control over the Strait of Hormuz is resolved.
