WISE plans to reapply for national trust bank charter after OCC denial

The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency denied payments company WISE’s application to establish a national trust bank, and the company said it plans to submit a new application under the GENIUS Act’s stablecoin framework. The OCC rejected WISE’s application over shortcomings in its anti-money laundering standards.
