Trump says Iran war is going smoothly, but Tehran is not ready for a deal

President Donald Trump said in a speech at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner on July 24 that the war with Iran was going very smoothly and urged people not to believe fake news. Trump said the U.S. had dealt a major blow to Iran and that Tehran no longer had the capability to conduct naval or air force operations. He added that while some developments had been visible, Iran had almost no drones left. Trump said Iran very much wanted a deal, but was not yet ready for one. He added that it was not the time yet, though he was willing to listen.
