Fed FOMC sees unusual split as three members oppose rate hold The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady and said in its Federal Open Market Committee statement that three members opposed the decision, an unusual split compared with the previous meeting, when the rate hold was unanimous. It was also the first time since 2016 that three members dissented. The Fed said in the statement that the unemployment rate had shown little change and that it would continue its policy of maintaining ample reserves in the banking system.
