Republican Sen. Hawley seen likely to oppose CLARITY Act

Republican Sen. Josh Hawley, who previously voted against the GENIUS Act on stablecoin regulation, is also opposed to the CLARITY Act on crypto market structure, according to Crypto in America host Eleanor Terrett. Sen. Cynthia Lummis said Hawley is highly negative on the bill and is likely to vote against the CLARITY Act as well, following his earlier opposition to the GENIUS Act. Discussions with Hawley’s office are still ongoing, however. With last-minute negotiations continuing around the CLARITY Act, opposition within the Republican Party is emerging as a variable.
