U.S. CFTC settles with ex-lawmaker George Santos over Kalshi manipulation claims

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission reached a settlement with former Rep. George Santos over allegations of market manipulation on Kalshi, The Block reported. Regulators had previously sued Santos, alleging he bet on whether he would attend the State of the Union address and manipulated the market outcome. Santos is known to have made more than $17,500 from the trade.
