July crypto hack losses jump 177% from June to $210.3M

Crypto-related hacking incidents caused $210.3 million in losses across 30 cases in July, up 177% from June’s $75.87 million.
Major hacking cases in July were as follows:
- Coldcard Wallet: around $70 million lost in what was the third-largest incident this year after wallet security was compromised
- AFX: around $24 million lost in an attack exploiting a vulnerability in the Arbitrum-based protocol
- Ostium: around $24 million lost in an exploit targeting the decentralized derivatives platform
- Bonk: around $21.2 million lost in a hack involving a memecoin-related system
- Wanchain Bridge: around $13 million lost in a cross-chain bridge attack
- TripleA: around $10 million lost after its payment gateway system was compromised
- Bonzo Land: around $9.05 million lost in an attack exploiting a lending protocol vulnerability
- Verus Coin: around $7.5 million lost in a hack targeting its Ethereum-connected bridge
- WEMIX, Wemade’s in-game cryptocurrency: around $6.25 million lost in asset theft from its blockchain ecosystem
- Summer.fi: around $6 million lost in an exploit targeting the DeFi platform
