A wallet address identified as belonging to the Coldcard BTC hacker has turned into a public message board for victims and opportunists, CoinDesk reported. Multiple on-chain analysts, including Galaxy Research, had previously identified the wallet address beginning with "bc1qq8" as the hacker’s. The wallet currently holds about $36 million worth of BTC, and victims have been using Bitcoin’s OP_RETURN feature to leave messages asking for at least some of the funds back. The address has also received illegal offers to help launder the funds, along with unrelated requests for donations such as appeals to send one BTC. More than $100 million worth of BTC was stolen in the Coldcard hack, while Galaxy Research estimated total losses could reach as high as 2,055 BTC.
