In Michigan’s Republican primary on Aug. 4, Bill Huizenga secured the party’s nomination after previously receiving campaign support from Andreessen Horowitz, a16z, Winklevoss Capital and Coinbase. Huizenga is seeking reelection and is expected to face Democratic state Sen. Shawn McCann in November. In Washington’s Democratic primaries, incumbent House members Suzan DelBene, Kim Schrier and Marilyn Strickland won, while Republican Amanda McKinney also advanced. All of them previously received campaign support from Fairshake, a crypto-focused PAC backed by Coinbase and a16z, according to the report.
