Base hacker steals 500,000 USDC but loses 75% during swap

A hacker stole about 500,000 USDC from a wallet on the Base network but lost much of the funds while trying to cash out after being hit by a sandwich attack from an MEV bot, according to PeckShield. During the swap, the hacker did not set sufficient slippage protection, allowing the bot to intervene, and ultimately walked away with only 67 WETH worth $129,000.
