Thune office may seek cloture to start CLARITY Act debate before August recess

August 07, 2026, 7:20 PM
U.S. Senate Republican leader John Thune’s office has told industry participants it still may file cloture to begin Senate consideration of the CLARITY Act before the August congressional recess, according to Crypto in America host Eleanor Terrett. Still, the effort requires securing votes that are not yet in hand, resolving differences over yield-related issues, and reaching agreement on bipartisan ethics provisions.
