Saylor says BIP-110 effectively failed amid weak miner backing

Strategy founder Michael Saylor said on X that BIP-110 has effectively failed to gain broad backing, with only 2.6% of miners supporting it.
Saylor said nodes backing BIP-110 would reject blocks without support signals once block height 961,632 is reached. But with most miners not participating, the Bitcoin network is expected to continue operating normally, while BIP-110 is likely to stall or remain on a separate chain with little influence, he said. Saylor added that Bitcoin is working as designed.
BIP-110 is a proposed temporary soft fork aimed at limiting non-payment data that can be inserted into Bitcoin transactions, reducing the use of inscriptions and Runes, and lowering the burden on nodes.
