Bitwise CIO sees trillions in institutional capital flowing into BTC

Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan said in an interview with CoinDesk that trillions of dollars in institutional capital could flow into Bitcoin over the next decade or longer.
Hougan said financial institutions worldwide manage between $100 trillion and $200 trillion in assets, and if just 1% of that were allocated to Bitcoin, inflows could reach $1 trillion to $2 trillion. He said financial advisers and family offices would lead the initial wave, followed later by pension funds, insurers, sovereign wealth funds and central banks. Based on those institutional inflows and an expanding store-of-value market, Hougan said BTC could reach $1.3 million by 2035. He added that while the crypto market grew from zero to $2 trillion on the back of retail investors, growth to a $20 trillion market would need to be led by institutional capital.
