Bitcoin BIP-110 soft fork stalls after two blocks

A Bitcoin soft fork chain triggered by the BIP-110 proposal over the weekend has remained stalled after mining just two blocks, leaving it dozens of blocks behind the Bitcoin mainnet, Decrypt reported.
The outlet said the chain split at block height 961,632 under BIP-110, but stopped after only two blocks were mined over roughly eight hours. Miner support for the forked chain stood at 2.53%, well below the 55% activation threshold, according to Decrypt. The outlet added BIP-110 is a temporary soft fork proposal designed to limit non-payment data that can be embedded in Bitcoin transactions, reducing the use of inscriptions and Runes while easing the burden on nodes. Most of the Bitcoin community opposed the proposal, viewing it as an attempt at censorship, Decrypt said.
