Bybit wins U.S. court approval to speed evidence gathering in North Korea hack case

Bybit has won U.S. court approval for expedited discovery tied to its investigation into a $1.5 billion crypto hack in February last year, allowing the exchange to obtain information needed to trace the stolen funds earlier, News1 reported. Bybit filed a sealed lawsuit in June against North Korea, North Korea’s Reconnaissance General Bureau, the Lazarus Group and 20 unidentified individuals. In that filing, the exchange argued "traceable assets" had flowed into exchanges operating in the U.S. and requested information including account holders’ identities and transaction records, according to the report.
