The Optimism Foundation said its OP buyback program will be reviewed for continuation after the initial 12-month period ends, according to BeInCrypto. Monthly OP buybacks fell 87% to 926,000 OP in April from 6.95 million OP in March. Optimism launched the program in January, using up to half of Superchain revenue to buy OP each month. The foundation has carried out three buybacks so far, in January with 1.57 million OP, in March with 6.95 million OP, and in April with 926,000 OP. A total of 513.9 ETH, worth about $975,000, was used across the three buybacks. CoinNess previously reported the Optimism Foundation halted OP buybacks starting in May.
