BC Card completes South Korea’s first stablecoin payment proof of concept with Coinbase South Korean card company BC Card said it has completed a proof of concept with Coinbase and institutional digital-asset technology firm Wavebridge linking overseas digital-asset wallets with South Korea’s card payment network, The Fair reported. The three-month pilot, which began in April, tested a scenario in which foreign visitors made payments at domestic BC QR merchants using USDC held in Coinbase’s "Base" wallet, without going through a separate currency exchange process.
