Ontology to upgrade mainnet on Aug. 21, adding four Ethereum EVM features

Ontology said it will upgrade its mainnet to v3.1.2 at block height 20,800,000 at 12:00 a.m. UTC on Aug. 21. The decentralized AI data infrastructure project said the upgrade will add four Ethereum EVM features to Ontology EVM: PUSH0, BASEFEE, MCOPY, and transient storage. The additions are expected to reduce smart contract size and some computation costs, while making it easier to migrate code developed for the latest Ethereum environment to Ontology. Node operators need to update to v3.1.2 before the network reaches that block to apply the mainnet upgrade.
