South Korea tax agency warns of phishing emails posing as crypto tax notices

South Korea’s National Tax Service has issued an alert after hacking attempts emerged under the pretext of providing guidance on virtual asset taxation, the Tax Daily reported. The agency urged recipients not to click links or attachments in emails with subject lines such as “가상자산 과세 사전 소명안내,” adding that some cases have led to personal data leaks.
