South Korea FIU says listing fees can be grounds for deregistering crypto firms

South Korea’s Financial Intelligence Unit said virtual asset service providers may face administrative delisting from the registry even after filing if they receive listing fees in exchange for token listings, Digital Asset reported. The FIU specified grounds for such action as cases in which a business receives money or other benefits from others through improper means in connection with its operations, or acquires funds or other assets to give to others, citing as an example a provider charging a listing fee in return for listing a digital asset. The report added the provision had already been included in the manual in July 2024 through the legislative process.
