Report says Binance still allowed new EU accounts after MiCA transition deadline

Binance continued allowing new account registrations from users in European countries including Austria, France, Germany, Spain and Belgium even after the MiCA transition grace period ended on July 1, crypto outlet Sandmark reported. The report said this remained possible regardless of VPN use. Sandmark said Binance did not disclose during the sign-up process that it lacked a MiCA license. Accounts that passed KYC verification were still able to use crypto services including deposits. Binance had previously withdrawn its MiCA license application in Greece in late June and said it would halt services for new EU customers as of July 1, according to the report.
