Financial institutions and regulators in Europe, the Middle East and Asia have begun testing cryptocurrency wallet and onchain transfer technology designed to withstand quantum computing attacks, Cointelegraph reported. The initiative is being led by the Responsible Fintech Institute and crypto custody infrastructure provider Safeheron, with participating regulators including Abu Dhabi Global Market, Bhutan’s Gelephu Financial Services Authority and the Malta Financial Services Authority, as well as Bison Bank and DKBANK. The institutions are testing wallet creation and asset transfers on a quantum-resistant NEAR testnet using multiparty computation technology that supports ML-DSA-65, a quantum-resistant digital signature standard established by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology.
