Base launches 24/7 U.S. stock token trading with Nvidia and Apple

Stock token trading for U.S. equities has gone live on Base, Coinbase’s in-house Ethereum layer-two network, The Block reported. Eligible users outside the United States can hold or trade the stock tokens around the clock regardless of regular U.S. stock market hours, and can also use them for lending and borrowing. Coinbase issues the U.S. stocks as B20 tokens, with each token backed one-to-one by the underlying share held by a regulated custodian. Initial supported names include major U.S. companies such as Nvidia, Meta, Apple and Alphabet.
