Shipyard to end IPFS operations on Sept. 30 after Protocol Labs funding cutoff

Shipyard, which has maintained core projects for the decentralized file storage system IPFS, said it will halt IPFS-related development, maintenance and infrastructure operations on Sept. 30 after Protocol Labs ended funding. As a result, projects managed by Shipyard, including Kubo and Helia, will no longer have dedicated maintainers responsible for new feature development, bug fixes and releases. Shipyard also plans to shut down public infrastructure currently in operation, including ipfs.io, dweb.link and IPFS bootstrap nodes. Protocol Labs will decide future operating plans for the related domains and infrastructure.
