Justin Sun says Tron plans quantum-resistant upgrade this year

Tron founder Justin Sun said at Hong Kong's Bitcoin Asia 2026 on Aug. 27 that Tron plans to upgrade its network by year-end to withstand quantum-computing attacks, BlockBeats reported. Sun said Tron has spent the past year developing quantum-resistant technology and established a quantum-resistant address system in the first half of this year, applying it to the testnet. He added that Bitcoin, by contrast, is a highly decentralized ecosystem involving multiple stakeholders, including miners, exchanges and WBTC, so reaching agreement on a response could take longer.
