Solana cuts testnet on-chain storage costs by 90%

Solana has sharply reduced on-chain storage costs on its testnet, lowering fees under the SIMD-0437 proposal from 6,960 lamports per byte to 696 lamports per byte, Crypto Briefing reported. The change cuts token account maintenance costs to about one-tenth of the previous level and is currently being implemented on the testnet.
