Trader Ansem says 2017 altcoins were little more than meme coins with white papers

Ansem, a trader known for meme coins and the inspiration behind the Solana-based meme coin ANSEM, said on X that many 2017 altcoins were effectively meme coins with white papers, with founders constantly lying. Ansem added that being bullish on 2017 altcoins while turning bearish on meme coins in 2026 is contradictory, arguing they are essentially the same assets. Ansem said meme coins at least openly admit they aim to attract attention and push prices higher rather than pretend otherwise, and added that Ansem is personally more bullish on them than ever.
