The Sandbox to offer 1:1 SAND compensation after bridge hack

The Sandbox will provide Ethereum-based SAND on a one-to-one basis to users who legitimately held SAND on Base and BNB Chain during the bridge hack on Aug. 21, when about 14.7 million SAND was stolen, Cointelegraph reported. The compensation will be paid from The Sandbox treasury without any new token issuance. The claims process is set to begin within two weeks and remain open for two weeks after that. Two centralized exchanges holding more than 72% of the eligible SAND will compensate customers directly. According to CoinMarketCap, SAND was trading at $0.03972 at the time of writing, down 11.46% over the past week.
