Bitcoin mining companies are increasingly using existing infrastructure for AI and high-performance computing businesses as profitability worsens after the halving, lifting the share of related revenue. In a recent report, CoinShares said AI infrastructure revenue at Nasdaq-listed mining companies is projected to rise to about 70% by December from about 30% at the start of the year, while the value of AI-related contracts across listed miners has at times exceeded $70 billion. CoinShares added the sector’s valuation is also shifting away from a focus on hash rate toward metrics such as data center capacity.
