Bitcoin Core v32 to improve processing speed and fee estimation
September 01, 2026, 12:42 AM
Galaxy Digital analyst Christine Kim said Bitcoin Core’s next major release, v32, will introduce three key features to improve block processing, transaction management, and fee setting.
The first is a feature that loads the previous transaction outputs needed for block verification in parallel. The second changes transaction rate limiting from a per-peer basis to a network-wide standard. The last adds a fee estimation function based on actual transaction data accumulated in the mempool. The goal is to reduce cases where required fees are calculated above actual levels.
