OKX founder says deposits from suspicious addresses may face 15-day reviews

OKX founder Star Xu said on X that deposits sent to OKX from addresses deemed at high risk of involvement in money laundering or other illegal activity may face stricter anti-money laundering and risk reviews, with the process potentially taking more than 15 days.
Xu added that some account functions and access to funds may be restricted during that period, and service access may be blocked if the activity is confirmed to be linked to suspicious or illegal conduct. He also said funds obtained through escrow deals in Telegram group chats or through Huione, a Cambodia-linked company tied to crypto money laundering, and related channels are more likely to draw scrutiny. Xu stressed that OKX accounts must not be used for money laundering, fraud, or the transfer of illicit funds.
