BTC and XRP may be forming a so-called 'Bart Simpson pattern,' in which prices surge, move sideways, and then quickly give back gains, CoinDesk reported.
BTC rose from $64,420 on Aug. 19 to around $80,700 on Aug. 25 before slipping to about $76,500. Frank Hepworth, founder of Newmarket Trading, said BTC failed to break above the key resistance level at $81,000 and could fall to $70,000, with downside open to $58,000 if selling pressure strengthens. XRP also jumped from $1 to $1.52 before declining to around $1.32, and Hepworth said it could retreat to between $0.55 and $1.21 if BTC enters a correction.
