GLD, IBIT reach record or near-record share of total ETF trading volume

Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said spot gold ETF GLD and BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF IBIT ranked fourth and sixth, respectively, in U.S. ETF trading volume on Sept. 3, with $4.53 billion and $3.48 billion. Balchunas estimated the two funds’ share of total ETF trading volume was at a record high or close to one. He added on X, "the trading volume of the two ETFs themselves is not unusually large. It is due to generally lighter trading across other ETFs at the end of August."
